Abies alba, commonly called Green Spiral Silver Fir, is a semi-dwarf evergreen from Europe with a broad upright habit of glossy bicolored green and white needles that spiral outward and down. The irregular pyramidal form and silvery appearance make this an excellent focal point in any landscape. Firs grow natively in rich, acidic soils in mountainous regions, and are not very tolerant of hot dry summers. Plant in a location with moderate moisture in full sun to partial shade.
