Astrantia major, also known as Masterwort, is an herbaceous perennial with a mounding growth habit of deeply-divided, dark green toothed leaves. Late summer to early spring tiny clusters of vibrant blooms form a dome-shaped flowerhead atop sturdy stems. Plant in full sun to part shade in moist, well-draining soil. Be sure to never let the soil dry out! To prolong bloom time or prevent self-seeding, you can deadhead spent flowers.
