A rare and colorful species of tillandsia, Capitata Maroon has thick green leaves that blush maroon towards the center. These are large growing plants, and will keep their maroon color if displayed in an area of bright light.
Tillandsia (Airplants) must receive bright light (avoid direct sunlight) and sufficient moisture. In place of natural light, a broad spectrum fluorescent light is recommended.
Tillandsias take up moisture and nutrients through their foliage, soak in a small bowl of water once or twice a week for several hours.
