Dicentra formosa, also known as Pacific Bleeding Heart, is a rhizomatous long-blooming shade perennial. Finely-divided gray-green foliage give way to leafless stems chained with puffy heart-shaped flowers. This plant thrives in part-shade but will tolerate full-shade in exchange for less blooms. Plant in moist, well-draining soil.
