
Beta vulgaris, commonly called Rainbow Chard, is a highly ornamental chard with vibrant stalks of red, orange, purple, yellow, and white that taste as great as they appear. Direct sow seeds outdoors in a sunny location 1/2" deep and 4" apart once soil temperatures are at least 50°F. Thin to 12" apart once seedlings have sprouted.
