Cucurbita maxima, commonly called Burgess Buttercup Squash, is a bush variety of squash that produce flattened dark green turban-shaped fruits with sweet vibrant orange flesh. Sow 6-8 seeds in 12" diameter hills spaced 6' apart outdoors in a sunny location after the soil has warmed. Thin plants 3-4 per hill after germination.
